Southern Mulch Case Study
When Southern Mulch, a provider of landscape materials serving Upstate SC, was planning their second retail location in Greenville, they realized that they needed a strong retail management system to keep track of sales and orders. We needed one system so we could have at-a "glance data on what was happening with the business said Christian Swensen, owner of Southern Mulch. Our current systems were built for single sites, and we realized that in order to grow our business, we needed a system that integrated our various sites and could grow with us as we added more locations.
Southern Mulch contacted Jobscope, a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner that provides business solutions to small and mid-size organizations, to inquire about standardizing their systems. After assessing the current and future company needs and goals, Jobscope determined that Southern Mulch would benefit most standardizing on an integrated Microsoft platform including Dynamics GP for accounting, Retail Management System for retail transactions, and Dynamics CRM for customer relationship management. Southern Mulch needed to standardize their business on Microsoft SQL Server to allow for communication within all of their business applications, retail locations, and salesmen, stated Jesse Zdonek , sales manager for Jobscope. This SQL Server based system is scalable he says, It will allow them to add locations and grow their business with little effort and allow communication within the sales and financial data.
Jobscope worked closely with Southern Mulch to plan and execute a manageable implementation of the new system. We strive to make the implementation process as painless as possible, says Zdonek. We created a phased roll-out to allow Southern Mulch to become familiar with the products and feel comfortable using them. We were so impressed with the knowledge and service that Jobscope provided when implementing the Microsoft products, said Swensen. Jobscope customized the programs to allow for our specific order and delivery requirements. We stayed on our timeline and within our budget and it was practically seamless.
After just a few months of using the products from Jobscope, Swensen says they have seen many benefits. Everything works a lot faster. Sales information that took us days to compile now only takes a minute. Instead of spending my time pulling the data, I can now focus on business decisions instead of business operations.
